How our listings work

Every listing is a spray foam business whose own website describes spray foam work, with the evidence linked.

Our directory has 1,527 spray foam insulation contractors. We list a business only when its own website describes spray foam work, and we show you what we found and where.

How a business gets listed

  1. 1

    Found in public business listings

We search public business information (Google Maps business listings) for spray foam insulation contractors in each state.

  2. 2

Website read for spray foam work

We read each business's own website and list it only if the site describes spray foam insulation work. "On their website" shows the services we found, such as open-cell, closed-cell, attics or metal buildings.

  3. 3

    State license matched where available

Where a state publishes contractor license data, we match businesses against it. A matched license shows on the listing with its number.

What the labels mean

  • On their website: spray foam services the business describes on its own site.
  • State license: a license we matched in the state's official licensing data, with its number.
  • Sponsored: appears on any listing where the provider pays us for placement or referrals.

We do not call anyone "best", "top rated" or "certified" unless a named, current source supports it. A listing is not an endorsement.

Before you hire

A website is a business describing itself. Ask each contractor to confirm it does the job you have in mind, get a written proposal, ask for proof of insurance and any license your state or city requires, and work through the questions in our hiring checklist.

Keeping information up to date

We refresh listings as we re-check websites and license data. If you believe a listing is incorrect or outdated, please let us know.

Frequently asked questions

Do you charge contractors to be listed?

No. Listing is free. If we ever offer paid placement or take referral fees, those listings will be labeled Sponsored.

Why do some listings show a license and others do not?

About half of US states license insulation contractors at the state level, and we can only match licenses in states that publish their license data. No license shown does not mean a business is unlicensed. Ask the contractor what license, if any, your state or city requires.

Do you check insurance?

No. Ask every contractor for a current certificate of liability insurance, and workers compensation where it applies, before work starts.

What if I think a listing is incorrect?

Tell us through the business listing form, whether it is your business or not, and say what is wrong. We correct errors and act on removal requests from the business.

Why do you not show star ratings?

Ratings copied from other sites are not ours to republish, and they say little about whether a company installs spray foam correctly. We show what each business says it does, with the page we found it on.
